Dry July

Bloke Support is once again supporting Dry July for 2012!

Dry July is an online social community where an individual or team can sign up to the challenge of a month long sponsored abstinence from alcohol.

Dry July is about clearing your head and making a difference. Get healthy, challenge yourself, encourage positive change and a healthy attitude to alcohol consumption.

The funds raised from participants’ sponsorship directly benefit the lives of adults living with cancer right across Australia. Sponsorship is raised online via participant or team profile pages. You can find your chosen participant or team by searching for them via the “Make a donation” search box on the homepage.

This year, Dry July has a very personal meaning for me as my Mother was diagnosed with Cancer earlier this year and was given only 2 years to live. Due to the work of charities such as Dry July, she is likely to make a recovery. This journey has taught me that cancer has a ripple effect where not only the paitent suffers but also friends, family and the wider community are also effected and need support.

This year, The Bloke Support team raised an amazing $1800 for Royal North Shore Hospital, eclipsing our goal of $1000. To date, Bloke Support has raised $1850 during Dry July. Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported us, and we look forward to raising more next year.
